Type of steel :-
- Mild steel - characteristic strength is 250 N/sqmm
- Hysd - (i) Fe 415 = fy - 415N/sqmm
- (ii) Fe500 = fy - 500N/sqmm
- Minimum number of bars in a square shape column :- 4 no.
- Minimum number of bars in a Round shape column :- 6 no.
- For binding one ton of MS bar 8kg to 12 kg binding wire is required.
- MS bar for chair should not be less than 12mm diameter.
- Maximum chair spacing = 1 meter
- Minimum diameter of bars used in slab = 8mm
- Minimum diameter of bars used in column= 12 mm
- Minimum diameter of bars used in dowel bars = 12 mm
- Maximum diameter of bars used in slab should not be exceed 1/8th of total slab thickness.
- Minimum % of steel in column is 0.8% of gross area of column.
- Maximum % of steel in column is 6% of gross area of column.
- The transverse Reinforcement of column are called Ties.
- The transverse Reinforcement in beam are called stirrups.
